Wheelys Supply Boxes

Wheelys is a chain of organic bike cafés, enabling young people to start their own business. Wheelys was hosted at Y Combinator (the accelerator behind Airbnb, Dropbox, and Reddit) and has been funded by, amongst others, Paul Buchheit (creator of Gmail), Jared Friedman (founder of Scribd), and Justin Waldron (co-founder of Zynga).

The Wheelys bike is shipped with over 30 different components that either have to be unpacked and/or assembled by the customer. The brief was to make it easier for the customer to get a quick overview of their shipment.

A systemized design that is based on the universal language of colors and icons. Supply boxes feature a big Wheelys Cafe “W” and a straightforward description of what’s inside, paired with a simple icon. The pastel colors complement the stronger hues found on the cart itself.
